Dedicated to Diversity and Inclusion

Over 20K Participants

Multiculturalism and inclusion are important concepts here at K2. We understand the significance of representation of all populations in clinical research and are aware of the current lack of diversity in trial participants. We endeavor to change this. We reject a set-it and forget-it mentality when it comes to equity and justice; instead, we aim to use these ideas as living, working concepts that inform our daily interactions with one another, with patients and with the community at large. Find out more about what we are doing to promote diversity in our clinical trials.

Clinical Research as a Care Option

Clinical Research as a Care Option (CRAACO) is a concept that is revolutionizing health care as we know it. Considering the use of clinical trials as a tool to supplement and/or replace conventional healthcare is a radical notion, but one that stands to benefit patients, physicians, and the research community as a whole. Some of these benefits include faster drug development, and for patients, a more cost-effective approach with better treatment outcomes. Here at K2 Medical Research, we are fully onboard and are collaborating with local practices to help make this innovative idea a reality for our patients. While traditional healthcare presents many well-known challenges to patients seeking treatment, participating in a clinical research trial offers many practical solutions. By participating in a research study with K2, participants can expect to:

Areas of Research

We do our best to stay relevant to the needs of our patients using advanced technology that helps us better diagnose and treat conditions and diseases. Our office features innovative technology that makes it possible for us to provide unsurpassed patient care not available just a few years ago.

Therapeutic Treatments

Latest research and new treatments for liver disease such as Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) and Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

Research aimed to further understand and treat neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease.

Research and treatment options of depressive disorders in the chronic pain patient such as depression and anxiety.

Studies range from genetic and molecular studies of the mechanisms of cardiovascular disease to studies of vascular properties, lifestyle interventions, and responsiveness to preventive pharmacotherapy.

In the United States, the most common endocrine disease is diabetes. There are many others such as Addison’s Disease, Cushing’s Syndrome, Graves’ Disease and Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis to consider clinical trial participation.

Autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARDs) are a diverse group of conditions that primarily affect the joints, bones, muscle, and connective tissue such as Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA).

Clinical trials that are conducted to find better tests or procedures for diagnosing a particular disease or condition.

Innovative translational research uses biomarkers to accelerate or aid in diagnosis or monitoring and provide insight into “personalized” medicine. A biomarker is a quantifiable biological parameter (such as blood pressure, heart rate, blood and genetic test, and x-rays) that are measured and evaluated over time as an indicator of normal biological, pathogenic, or pharmacologic responses to a therapeutic intervention.

Nutrition studies the relationship between foods and its effect on an individual's health. Nutrition considers topics such as obesity, malnutrition, food insecurity and nutritional deficiencies.
