Alana Malechuk, a graduate-level research scientist and former university professor, joins the K2 Medical Research team as a Clinical Research Manager. Alana has enjoyed the unique opportunity to integrate both interpersonal skills and hard science in her multifaceted career. She worked as a patient liaison with Northeast Medical Center in North Carolina and also taught Biology at Wake Forest University, Wake Technical Community College, and Waubonsee Community College. Prior to joining K2, Alana was widely praised for her efforts in the fields of animal behavior and neuroscience in which she observed the pharmacological effects of caffeine on learning. In addition to earning several publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Animal Behavior and Insectes Sociaux, her Master’s thesis was presented at the Society for Neuroscience Conference in 2009. Alana graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Carolina-Charlotte with her BS degree in Biology and a BA degree in Chemistry. She received her Master’s degree in Biology from Wake Forest University. After living all over the US, Alana has recently relocated to Central Florida with her husband and four children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, lifting weights, boating, and playing piano.
